Queensland based Wildcat Chemicals Australia Pty Ltd (Wildcat) was formed in 1996 to supply high quality products to the oil and gas industry.  Initially the company focused on toll blended products, however, customer demand for shorter lead times prompted Wildcat to invest in the infrastructure allowing it to manufacture and blend products in-house, while controlling quality and improving efficiency.

Today Wildcat manufactures and distributes its own range of specialty chemicals including oilfield chemicals, process chemicals and drilling fluids.  The company also produces products specifically for companies such as BP, Rhodia and CSIRO.

In October 2008, Western Australian ASX listed company Imdex Limited (Imdex) acquired Wildcat.  Imdex provides drilling fluids and leading down hole instrumentation to the mining, oil and gas, water well and civil engineering industries worldwide.  The acquisition complements Imdex's drilling fluids and chemicals manufacturing and R&D capabilities for the oil and gas industry.

Wildcat forms an important part of Imdex's Drilling Fluids and Chemicals Division and markets its range of products under the AMC brand.  The company continues to operate from its purpose built facility in the Narangba Indsutrial Estate located approximately 40 minutes from Brisbane.
